monet tornò in francia da londra nel 1872 e si stabilì ad argenteuil ( una città pittoresca sponda della senna , undici chilometri dal centro di parigi ) , dove ha vissuto fino al 1876 . I suoi contemporanei Pierre-Auguste Renoir , manet e douard alfred sisley si è unito lui e , per una volta , Argenteuil divenne un centro di attività artistica . e stato durante questo periodo che monet ha creato alcuni dei suoi dipinti più caratteristici .
